The UWL Aspire Scheme helps you make the very best of your time at the University by improving access to the learning tools you need to support your studies.
The overview of the scheme is all UWL UG and Pre-Registration students doing a course of 60 credits will receive the following:
Get your UWL Aspire Bursary worth up to £300
If you are a full-time or part-time home/EU undergraduate student paying the £9,790 fee you should be eligible for the UWL Aspire Bursary.
Students studying through partnership arrangements are not eligible for the bursary, with the exception of students studying the BA Professional Acting course at Drama Studio London.
In your first year of study, you will receive £100 of Aspire Funds to your UWL Aspire account as a Full-time Student and £50 as a Part-time Student. The first year funds can only be used on the following categories: Books, Art & Design, Computing, Online Courses, Photography, Stationery and Office, University Branded Clothing and Nursing, Medical and Safety.
For the rest of your course, you will receive two x £100 payment as a Full-time Student and two x £50 payment as a Part-time Student to your UWL Aspire account. These funds can be used to purchase anything in the UWL Aspire shop. The money will normally be added to your account in these years:
For 3 year undergraduate courses - 2nd and 3rd year
For 4 year undergraduate course with foundation - 3rd and 4th year
For 4 year undergraduate courses with placement - 2nd and 4th year
For 4 year Part-time undergraduate courses - 3rd and 4th year
For 5 year Part-time undergraduate courses - 3rd and 5th year

Aspire funds are automatically credited when students enrol. You will receive an email letting you know when you have received the funds and you can use them on the UWL Aspire portal. You can click on SHOP to navigate everything that is available that you might need to support your studies.
If you are entitled to the UWL Aspire Bursary you will automatically receive an email notifying you. Your login details are the same as your university credentials, your username is your university email address.

Eligible students will receive their funds once they have completed registration with the University of West London. The funds are linked to your student email address, so you will receive an email with the details of how to log in to that address.
Your UWL Aspire Bursary is not a loan and you do not have to pay it back. The funds are provided for you by your university to help with the extra costs associated with studying. It does not add to your student debt.

Unspent funds at the end of each academic year will NOT be rolled over for you to use in your next academic year. Unspent funds will be wiped. You will be notified of when this will happen giving you a months notice providing you have not opted out of marketing. Funds are only available for 365 days from when they are issued. To check when they were issues, you can go to "My Account" and then "My transactions".
You can spend your funds on books and other learning resources such as tablets and laptops. You can find the full range here. UWL Aspire has put in place a number of measures to ensure that each student's Aspire funds are securely protected. Your account is secured using your university credentials.
